Visiting Vikings

Roskilde thirty miles from here was at one time the major city of Denmark and a Viking Stronghold,  In order to stop invading ships from coming up the Roskilde Fjord, 5 viking ships were sunk about 1070.  These have been found, brought up, preserved as much as was left and then recreated at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde.  We visited there today as well as the Roskilde Cathedral.
The sail boat behind us is a replica of one of the ships and you can take a trip out on the fjord in it and several other similar replicas.
After dinner we went to the Little Mermaid and then just around the corner to..
The Kristina Statue and the pavers in front where Jim was smart enough to put his ggrandmother and gggrandmother's name years ago when they were putting the memorial to the Mormons that immigrated from Denmark in the 1800s..
