More Berlin

One of our favorite activities in Berlin was a walking tour with Mike.  It was with the Insider Tours and he was a college graduate in history with an emphasis on European History.  He was fabulous.  We covered all of the main sites: The rebuilt Reichstag and Government offices all in glass to symbolize openness in government,,

and the square where all the books were burned by the Nazi in WWII, in front of Humboldt University.  They had currently set up a reading site with bean bags and chairs and copies of all the books that were destroyed, you could sit down and read.
The permanent memorial is a look through the cobblestones to a room with empty bookshelves...
We took a break and visited this amazing Fassbender and Rausch Chocolatiers. Incredible Chocolate creations and of course, excellent chocolate.
 More tomorrow.....
