Malmo Stake Conference

Since Malmo is only 45 minutes away across the bridge, we  came home last night and then drove back this morning.  The weather was not ideal, but the bridge is always impressive.
I snapped this picture at the end of the session this morning.  They had a pretty good attendance considering it was transmitted by internet to two other locations in the stake which are several hours away.
A great boys trio and a super ladies trio provided musical numbers, Music really does bring the spirit.  Jim gave an excellent  talk on the sealing ordinance.
Closed the day with Family Night at the Mordues.  We try to do it once a month on Sunday to include the Larsens who are at the YSA Center on Monday nights until a replacement couple comes.

Love The People

This is the branch from the Leipzig Stake that came this morning to the temple.  We had a special 8 a.m. session for them and they joined the 10.00 a.m.  Their youth did baptisms and then they started their 8 hour trip home. They were all so grateful we had arranged a session just for them and so pleased to be in the temple.

Tonight we drove to Malmo, Sweden  for the Saturday night session of their Stake Conference.  I spoke tonight and Jim speaks tomorrow.  Afterward we went to Pres. and Sis Clark's home for a light supper and in addition, celebrated their daughter, Allison's departure for her mission on Tuesday.  She is going to Singapore, so we ate lovely Asian food.

Wait for Tomorrow.

Today was one of the slowest days we have had for a long time.  Several workers were sick, but the rest were great and we were able to get a lot of ordinances done.  According to "the clock in the hall", we made it home well before 9 pm, which is very unusual for Friday night.

However, we start with an extra session at 8 a,m, in the morning.  The Kottern Branch from the Leipzig German Stake came in late tonight. They will do two sessions, baptisms for their youth, and go back tomorrow afternoon.  They were so kind and brought these fun gifts:

Internet Success

This cute couple came from Germany, two hours by car and two hours by ferry to be sealed.  They have been married a year and are expecting their first baby in April.  The baby has been very uncooperative and they still don't know if it is a boy or girl after three ultrasounds.
They met through the internet. He had just joined the church and she was in the Philippines after her mission.  They talked about the church and after two years visiting back and forth were married.  I love how the Lord works to get people together.

Project for Today

Since it is still so cold outside, today was a good day to defrost the freezer.  I just took the drawers out and put them on the deck while I worked on the freezer.

This nifty little appliance is in most Danish homes.  It's basically an electric teapot. It heats water to boiling in less than 2 minutes. It made it very easy to keep hot water in pans to melt the built-up ice.
I should have taken a before picture, but here is the after.  Such a good feeling of accomplishment.
And here it is packed up again.  I do like the refrigerator being on the top. I can pack and stack and see what is there so much easier.

Game Night

Once a month we get together with the Warrnsdorfs and Kochs.  A previous missionary couple introduced them to this sort of Sorry marble game.  For the first time, since we were invited to join, the women won two of the three games. A lot of luck in the draw of the cards.
