We woke up to a thunder storm, which is actually fairly unusual for Denmark, the thunder, not the rain. So adventuring was curtailed. I did see this cool, homemade mode of transportation at the bike shop..
I found these two new shops at the enlarged and renovated Frederiksberg Mall, my closest mall.
With a daughter named Rebecca, I had to take a picture and Noa Noa is a family favorite.
The quick genbrug stop yielded this Disney Comic Book about "The Wise Little Hen." Anders An (Donald Duck) has been a favorite language tool for years.

Visiting Teaching
Right now there are five sisters on my visiting teaching list: Michelle Engberg, Elisa Pollard, Lea Knudsen, Pia Dahlmann and Amanda Nielsen. My partner is Jemima Bernasko-Appu originaly from Ghana, but a long time resident of Europe and Denmark.
We went to visit Michelle today. She was just made Primary President after serving as first counselor for several years. She is darling and we love to visit her. It is a good spiritual lift as well as a serious workout.
If you look closely you can see the 6 flights of stairs we have to climb to get to her apartment.

Sunday Visits
These three couples were walking around the temple as we came home from church. One couple is from Michigan (Jensens - he was born in Salina), one couple from North Dakota, Waltons, and the Landons from Idaho. Look we are a world famous tourist destination.
We visited Luna, the Paulsens' cat and gave her lunch. They are off picking up their son from his mission. She's a shy cat, but was very, very excited to see me with the food.

48
We celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary by going to dinner at Tivoli.
After watching the traditional pantomime show,
We spurged and went to the Grøften, one of the oldest restaurants in the park.
and enjoyed one of our most favorite meals, braised lamb shank.

Afterward a pleasant walk among the lovely gardens.
It has been a great 48 years. We feel very blessed with a good family, wondeful friends and marvelous adventures.

A Wedding and a Funeral
Today was Cecilia Andersen and Mattias Krylborn's wedding. Mattias was one of our missionaries from the MTC and Cecilia's folks, Sven Aage and Dorte are both temple workers here. It was a fun day. However, Dorte's father died three days ago after a quick 3 week battle with cancer. And the funeral is Tuesday. Such an emotional week!

Flexibility
We have taken seriously the temple handbook instructions that say the temple is for the patrons and we as workers are here to help them accomplish their temple work. So if anyone wants or needs to do temple work, out of our planned schedule we try to say yes, if at all possible.
Today our flexibility was put to the test as this family reunion group, plus about ten more who had already gone, walked in for the 3.30 session and then requested a baptismal session at 5.30. We did some quick reassignments and it all worked out great.
They are from Germany and hold their family reunion in the same place in Denmark every year. We actually knew they were coming, if we had understood a note that said 23 stk. Aug. 6.

Swan up date...a BIG Summer
I checked on the swans down at the Lakes today. I can't believe how big they are, almost the same size as their mother.
They were busy preening themselves for the audience ....
There were 6 baby swans and I worried one had been lost, but no he was just out doing his own thing, enjoying a little personal time.....
