The swans seem to have left the lake. I found this family at the Kronborg Castle moat. I am assuming it is the same family and they have just picked up a couple extra cousins......

Frederiksborg Castle/Carl Block
Frederiksborg Castle is the home of the original Carl Block paintings. Wendy figured out this great shot. It gives you a good idea of the King's Chapel where the paintings are located.
The gardens are lovely and considered the Versailles of the north.

Visiting Vikings
Roskilde thirty miles from here was at one time the major city of Denmark and a Viking Stronghold, In order to stop invading ships from coming up the Roskilde Fjord, 5 viking ships were sunk about 1070. These have been found, brought up, preserved as much as was left and then recreated at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde. We visited there today as well as the Roskilde Cathedral.
The sail boat behind us is a replica of one of the ships and you can take a trip out on the fjord in it and several other similar replicas.

After dinner we went to the Little Mermaid and then just around the corner to..
The Kristina Statue and the pavers in front where Jim was smart enough to put his ggrandmother and gggrandmother's name years ago when they were putting the memorial to the Mormons that immigrated from Denmark in the 1800s..Monday, August 4, 2014
Shakespeare at Kronborg Castle
Every year the Globe Theater from London brings a Shakespeare Production to Kronborg Castle in Helsingnor about 30 miles north of Copenhagen. The castle is famous because it is the setting for Shakespeare's "Hamlet." I have wanted to go since we were here 10 years ago, so tonight we did. It was fabulous. The play was "Much Ado About Nothing" and it was put on in the courtyard of the castle. Janey slept through the whole thing and the forecast rain came earlier in the day. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Happy Arrivals
Our granddaughter, Janey, arrived with her parents (our daughter Wendy) and will be with us for 10 days. We have all sorts of fun things planned. However, it is currently raining which isn't good for tourists, but great for the land as it hasn't rained here for several weeks. There are no sprinkler systems so things have needed a drink.
Church also had some great visitors: Four investigators from Nigeria, Brazil and Albania. Denmark is a great gathering spot and allows many to come for schooling. The two from Brazil came as nannies and married Danish husbands.

Small Places
I love my little kitchen, but when doing serious cooking, there just isn't quite enough room. Amazing the places you find to put things.

Delightful Temple Visitors
Today we had several delightful visitors at the temple.
Sister Linda K. Burton, General Relief Society President, came with her husband, daughter and son-in-law. What a lovely, gracious, kind woman, and her family as well.
Bob Bessy from Manti, right nest door to Ephraim, and his cute daughters were also visiting ancestor sites. They befriended these two missionaries. It was fun to connect with home-town folk.
