The Weddings Begin
Besides a group from Goteborg Sweden today, we had the first of three big weddings scheduled for this month. The Meilsøe/Krieberg (Pres. and Sis. Buur's granddaughter) Wedding began it today. It has been so fun to watch Steffan and Anne Sophia figure it out as they each returned from their missions. They had dated and written the whole time they were apart, so just needed to get back on normal ground.

Maglegårds Alle
I rode out to the Maglesgaards Alle Chapel, our new ward house, this week. It is about 2 miles away, mostly uphill....
To complete the earlier remodeling, they redid the parking lot.
A lot like putting a puzzle together.
They lay the "bricks" and then sweep sand over the whole thing to fill in the cracks.

Kaki
We have made a new fruit discovery. They are probably available in the states, but I have never seen them. They are Kaki or Sharon fruit. They really are lovely and you can eat the whole thing, no seeds or skinning. We have become fans.

New on The Street
Today they remarked all the parking along Borups Alle which is the street that runs right in front of the temple. I think they run some kind of vinyl that sticks to the blacktop. It is very white and definite.
The best part is the bicycle crossing area. The curb slops here so you can cross to our street, Priovej, without bumping. I love the biking considerations in Denmark!

Spilleaften
Once a month we hae a game night with the Kochs and Warnsdorfs. We each bring something for dinner. Tonight I brought salad. I brought blueberry jello with frozen blueberries and strawberries. Since they do not have jello here in Denmark it was unique and went well with the lovely curry "Hay stacks"
Lisa is just finishing this beautiful quilt/wall hanging for a granddaughter being born in December. It is all done by hand, and is a well-known children's poem/song about a lady bug who falls in love with a snail......

FHE
We had a record number at Family Home Evening at Manwarings tonight, 12. Pres and Sis. Nilsson came as well as the 3 missionary couples and the Ravn-Petersens from Aarhus who are serving a 3 month temple mission. A very nice time as we talked about temples experiences and saw the church film "Only a Stonecutter." We also enjoyed Brett Manwaring's grandmother's recipe for Danish Apple Dumplings. We are so grateful for our missionaries. They have carried a huge load in the baptistry the last three weeks.

Halloween
Halloween is creeping it's way into Denmark. Ten years ago, I remember very little recognition of the day. This year, stores had major displays,
some a little frightening....
When my neighbor, Nilla Amanda, came trick or treating. I was totally surprised. Only to find out from them, that out in the neighborhoods where there are individual houses, there were many children going from door to door trick or treating.
I showed them pictures of some of my grandchildren in their Disney costumes and they were surprised to find out that all costumes didn't have to be scary.
Pumpkin carving has also caught on.
The remains of a Halloween party at the church, And so ends another Halloween......
