Super Sunday

The Super Bowl will apparently be broadcast here live at midnight. However, we have had a super Sunday without it.
Per and Dorrit Olsen invited us to their house for dinner after church with Bob and Trudy Larsen.  However, Trudy didn't feel well, so they missed the delicious meal.  We had a nice visit before
we came home for Family Night with our missionaries, We read Elder John A. Widsoe's talk from 1920 on Temple Worship.  It is a masterful sermon which is often quoted in temple books and discussions.

Saturday Afternoon Out

It has been a while since the missionary couples went out for a Saturday afternoon together.  Today we took the Mordues to see The Christus and then to a Chinese Buffet.  It was a fun afternoon.
Riding the bus, is still an adventure for the new comers.

Several of our temple guests were also on the bus and at Vor Frue Kirke and we were able to get  a picture of all of us together.
And our 79 K ($12) Chinese buffet turned out to be good enough to come back to.

German Infusion

Two different groups from Germany came this week.  They both brought youth to be baptized and stayed in the guesthouse.  Today Jim set apart our first German temple workers.  They are Jan and Ann Neuendorf from the Neumunster Stake.  They were workers in the Frankfurt temple, so it was an easy training.  We have 60 other workers that have been approved.  As they come to visit, we will set them apart.  It was nice to have some native German speakers who could also speak English.  We ran half of our sessions in German.

Our preparation meeting had workers from Germany, Sweden, Denmark and the U.S.  Oh how true the church is and the wonderful blessings for those who come to the temple.!

A Full Day

Thursdays are usually not as busy as the weekends, but today we had many things going on.
We have had a group from Berlin here three days who came to do baptisms before they had to take the ferry home.
Next a group of 18 missionaries  came for a special 1.30 session.
A new group of Germans arrived at the guesthome and came for the last session tonight.
But the highlight of the day was Marie Barfod Jensen (on the right) who received her own endowment with a lot of good friends on the session.

Bike Shopping

After 12 years, some of our couples' apartments need some new items for their kitchen.  Today I went shopping and brought home on my bike:  2 frying pans, a toaster, a soup pot, plus groceries.  It is amazing how ingenious you become at carrying things.
This isn't today's load, but it gives you the idea.

Pomeloes

In a moment of adventure I bought a pomelo at the grocery store.

It looks like a big grapefruit on  the outside and inside too.  But you have to take off all the white membrance around each section.  In the end we like the taste, much like a sweet grapefruit, but can't decide it if it worth the work.
Now after adventuring out and tasting something so exotic, my daughter mentioned growing them in her yard in Arizona!

Monday Night Shuffle

Our regular Temple Missionary Family Nights are in for a change.  Bob and Trudy Larsen have been asked to go to the YSA Center and be a presence during Family Night.  Parkers, the current couple go home this week and they don't have a replacement for several months.  To tonight this was the group at Mordues.

We will hold Family Night on Sunday nights periodically to include everyone.
