Daffodils

Daffodils are everywhere and make everything so bright and cheery.  The ones on our Temple Square are especially stunning this year.
Danish class was down at Madsen's apartment on Vodrofsvej today .Look at this cute small variety..

Family History

After line-dancing, I stayed at the family history center at the church just to check one name I had a question about.  Three hours later I came away with these four children that need to be added to their parents.  It was fabulous to have Inge Østrup sit right next to me and look up everything in the Danish Archives and Danish Church books. I just mentioned a place and she was immediately looking through baptism and christening records for that area.  My Tree also had suggestions to records that had been indexed with the names I was working with.  Three turned out to be mine and three weren't in my line.  It was amazing to be able to go to the original records.  Thanks to all you who index!

Inge also found this census which includes another brother and his family.  One brother was Christen and he married Else Marie Nielsdatter.  Another brother was named Christian and he married Else Marie Pedersdatter.  There are so many of the same names.  I wonder if it was like Iceland and the government controlled what names you could use.

Game Night

Tonight we hosted the game night with the Warnsdorfs and Kochs. It is a game similar to Sorry, but played with marbles.  Unfortunately the men won all three games.  But we had a good visit  and a good dinner.
Irma brought this interesting fruit.   Couldn't remember the name and the look is more impressive than the taste which is basically nothing.

Home Teaching

We go home teaching to  Bishop Andersen and his family  the second Sunday of every month at 5 pm.  It is a great arrangement and we look forward to it.  They have lovely children that are learning and living the gospel.  Today we talked about courage, especially to stand up for what you believe in.

We enjoyed the walk to their nice, big apartment.

Sunny Saturday

Saturdays are so interesting and today nice and sunny.  We first had a beautiful wedding of Pres. and Sis. Buur's granddaughter.  The dress is an Anne Marie Kofod original.

A group of Young Women came from Gotteborg, Sweden for baptisms.  They are much closer to us, but were moved to the Stockholm Temple District years ago.  We love to have them come.
Tonight was the High Priest Activity at Johan an Lisa Koch's,fleskesteg sandwiches.  It was such great weather, I biked down and back

Emilie and Natalie

We had such a great day at the temple today.  There were three living ordinances:

A wedding: Carson/Caballero -  Swedish
These two darling girls from our ward received their own endowments.
Emilie  was baptized 18 months ago and now has a mission call to Manchester England.
Elder and Sister Madsen, the YSA missionaries came with her.  She is just as darling as she looks.  She commented on how "familier" everything felt.

Natalie has come back and joined her mother and sister in church activity.  She is in her mid 20's and becoming a teacher.  She really has blossomed. We like both of these girls so much and are so happy for them.

Lights Out

We walked out tonight and found all the outside lights on the temple off.  They will have to be reset in the morning.  It seems everything in the temple is run by computer.  But we do miss Angel Moroni shining out the window.  A good analogy to how dark life would be without the Restoration and all the light and knowledge it brings.
