Loppemarked Fun

There was a big loppemarket (flea market/antique sale) at the  Forum today. The Manwarings and I introduced the Larsens to the fun of bargain hunting.  I am getting better at it and today found some fun treasures.

This is an original of New Havn around the 1960s about the time Jim was here on his mission.

I finally broke down after 5 years and bought the  Hans Christian Andersen statue.

Finding the Truth

We have had two experience this week where people contacted the temple wanting to join the church or find the missionaries to teach them.
Two night ago a fine young man from Ghana, came in and said he had been to our church, but wasn't a member.  I asked him if he was looking for the missionaries and he said yes and gave me all of his contact information.
Today, the temple got a phone call from a woman who said Sir.....had told her to find our church and join.  She wants to go to church on Sunday.  I think we also received an email from her trying to find the church.  All of this information we passed on to these two darling missionaries in our area, who were waiting for us when he left the temple tonight.  Pray they can make the connection and help  those seeking the truth.  The Lord really does prepare people to find the truth.

Nordic Wedding

Åse and Hans a darling couple from Norway were married today in the temple.
Her white wool coat could have come out of the movie "Frozen".  It was beautiful and made by her sister for her own wedding when she got married in February several years ago.

Decorations Down

Denmark does not keep their Christmas decorations up past New Year's.  One sister told me they come down before New Year's because New Year's has it's own set of decor. Which includes crazy hats. (which I forgot to take a picture of).  The Christmas items are on sale for the same length of time.  Yesterday when I went out, they were all packed away for next year.
Our decorations came down today, Somehow they have multiplied.  I opened 1 box and ended up storing 2.  Obviously I did hit a few good deals.

Sayonara to Deb.

We were sad to see Debbie go home this morning.  We have had such a good time with her.  What a blessing she is in our lives.  The missionary couples loved her and were sorry to see their tech support leave.....
Her plane to Paris left at 6.55 a.m.  Yes, we were up early. She had a direct flight from Paris to Salt Lake, only 15 hours from take -off  to arrival!

High Time

Elder and Sister Brooks, archiving missionaries, invited us down to see where they work at the Frederiksberg Kommune.  Their coworker, Lars, was nice enough to take us to the top of the tower of the Kommune building.  What a view.
 The bridge to Sweden...
Vores Frue Kirke, Parliament, and out to the Kattegat between Sweden and Denmark.
It was a cold, clear  and very windy day
Can't quite see the temple, but maybe the Angel Moroni just to the right of the red crane.
